Thanks to the success of three Italian-made Sergio Leone westerns: A Fistful of Dollars (1964), For a Few Dollars More(1965), and The Good, The Bad And The Ugly (1966) Eastwood soon exchanged this limited status for bonifide international stardom. During the '70s and '80s, Eastwood played Dirty Harry three more times and continued to headline Westerns, many of which he directed (High Plains Drifter; The Outlaw Josey Wales, opposite longtime love Sondra Locke). He even added comedies to his résumé (Every Which Way But Loose, costarring Locke and an orangutan) proving that his popularity crossed all genres. In the '80s, Eastwood kept up his breakneck pace, adding politics to his list of accomplishments when he was elected mayor of Carmel-by-the-Sea, California.
Academy Award-winning producer/director. Oscar-nominated actor. Movie composer. Elected politician. Father of seven. Clint Eastwood is one tough hombre who lives his life by his rules.
